Elizabeth L. Manning is self-taught graphic- and web-designer who has been building personal websites for over a decade and has recently branched out to developing business sites and print media. While she has no formal training in graphic design, she has a keen sense of color and layout arrangement, and is proficient with Adobe CS2 (including Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Acrobat). She has expert knowledge of HTML and CSS, is working to learn PHP and javascript, and codes all her websites by hand using a text editor. In addition to graphic design, she is also a writer and has considerable experience writing and editing informational articles and scientific documents.
Her formal training is in biology: she holds a B.S. in biology (with a minor in psychology) from Birmingham-Southern College in Birmingham, Alabama, and she has completed the coursework and some research for a PhD in neurobiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
